Larry Hugh Wilburn died in an off-road motorcycle accident on March 4, 2013, while on vacation near
Alamo Lake, Ariz.
Larry
enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding and his wagon train trips
through Death Valley. He
worked at Edwards Air Force Base for 35 years. He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter,
Cindy.
He leaves behind his wife Georgia, of Rosamond; sister Peggy Wilburn,
of Janesville; brother and
sister-in-law Ralph and Trish Wilburn, of
Greenhorn Ranch; nephews Tracy Wilburn and John Treat,
both of Quincy; nieice Dawn ODwyer, nephew's Hank Tucker, Dean Tucker and John Meyer; niece
Melody Cramer, of Denver, Colorado; his son Greg, of Newbury Park; daughter Sherry Wilburn, of Coos
Bay, Ore.; stepsons Curtis and Brian
Coakley and stepdaughter Sherry Smith of Lancaster, California,
and
many other relatives and friends.
Larry
(commonly known as “Uncle Larry”) and Georgia spent their summers at
Greenhorn Ranch
pulling the wagon with their team of mules and helping
the ranch in many ways. Larry will be
remembered as a man who could fix
anything, who loved his animals, the outdoors, his family and his
friends.
Services are being scheduled in the Lancaster area and Greenhorn Ranch at a later date.
